New protocol on C&DW Management (EU Construction & Demolition Waste Management Protocol).
Due to the continuously increasing Construction and Demolition Waste (C&DW), the European Commission is introducing a protocol for proper waste management, which applies to 28 countries.
The process is included under the Construction Strategy 2020 and is part of the Circle Economy Package presented by the Commission.
The overall objective of this Protocol is boosting confidence in the management of construction and demolition waste, as well as in the quality of the products obtained in the process.
The objectives and actions proposed are as follows:
– Improving identification, separation and collection.
– Improving applied logistics.
– Optimizing the treatment of waste.
– Managing quality.
– Implementing adequate policies and conditions.
This protocol shall apply to Industry Professionals, Construction Industry, Manufacturers, Manufacturers of Construction Products, Waste Management, Recycling Companies, and Local, Regional, National and EU Authorities.
